April wanted a November wedding!
She didn't want to be hot on her wedding day. But this fall was unusually warm so she was still warmer than she would have liked. But it was a lovely day for a wedding.
I'll be honest with you. I wasn't super impressed with Ashley Ridge at first. You see, I always judge a venue by where I would take the couple's portraits. And this venue was surrounded by parking lots with very few options for couples portraits.
The interior was quite nice, however. A good reception area, really pretty bride and groom prep areas -- usually they are tiny and the absolute opposite of photogenic -- and a good outside area for the reception
The ceremony was lovely, even if the light of the setting sun was super strong.
Remember how I said I didn't like the couples pic locations?
The venue coordinator told us of a park nearby where we could take pictures. Huzzah! However, things had taken longer than planned and the sun was down by the time we got there. Boo! Still, we got some good pictures.
