Not many people marry in January
It's easy to understand why. Cold, snowy, short days, etc. But some brave souls defy those things and get married then anyway. Crystal and Patrick contacted me and had an interesting idea. Do their couple's pictures when Crystal had her hair and makeup test, and then do the wedding as normal a couple days later.
We had plans to go to Rocky Mountain National Park to do their pictures but when the day came around, Colorado was experiencing a cold snap and so we scrambled to find a good place to take pictures indoors.
Luckily, a friend of mine recommended the Butterfly Pavilion and it was stellar. Warm and lush even in the heart of winter, it was an excellent place to take some pictures.
The weather warmed, and we adventured into the snow!
When we finished in the Butterfly Pavilion, it had warmed up sufficiently that we decided to go to a nearby park to take some pictures outside. Mount Falcon park is a favorite of mine, due to its proximity to Denver and panoramic views
The next day, at Denver Botanic Gardens
In the water garden gazebo, with tears throughout, surrounded by friends and family, this couple was married. Even in the depths of winter, it is possible to have a warm and colorful wedding!
